Primary

2.5 Years to 6 Years

The curriculum found in our early childhood level (2.5-6 years) is the foundation of the Montessori method because it serves as an encouragement to understand learning in both your child’s earlier and later years.

Our classrooms are structured in such a way that captivate and entice our students with appealing materials. Students actually have the freedom to choose their own activities under the guidance of one of our trained Montessori teachers. These materials cultivate concentration, independence and a love of learning. At Shalom Montessori School independent learning is encouraged to allow your child to grow at their own pace. A healthy emphasis is given to the development of social skills to foster empathy, respect, and communication, and the love of Torah

Early childhood activities are presented by the teacher. Children will then gravitate toward the lessons which pique their interest the most so that they can develop and sharpen necessary skills in their areas of growth. In addition, our school incorporates materials that engage practical life skills such as pouring, spooning, washing, and scrubbing. Furthermore, specialized materials are used to help develop the senses, Math, Language, Music, Geography, Science, Botany, Zoology, Art, and Culture. Children learn to develop a deep appreciation for learning because it is done in the normal, natural way that children learn…through their curiosity, and senses.

"The role of education is to interest the child profoundly in an external activity to which he will give all his potential."
